As Seen In Public

I always get a little anxious taking Lauren out to eat in public. She is usually pretty good but every once in a while she gets a wild hair and our dining experience becomes quit an adventure. We'll just say it will be a while until she sees the likes of Ruth's Chris or anything remotely close. I did, however catch her in some happy moments while dining out, two in particular that made me laugh.

This first picture reminds me of a book my mom read us when we were little (which is now a cartoon) Little Bear Goes to the Moon (I expect to inherit that book when she dies-hint hint mom). In the book Little Bear puts a box on his head for his trip to the moon.

Little Bear: Maybe some birds fly to the moon and maybe I can fly like a bird.
Mother Bear: And maybe you're a little, fat bearcub with no wings and no feathers. Maybe if you jump up, you'll come down very fast, with a big plop.
Little Bear: Maybe... but maybe not. I'm going now. Just look for me up in the sky.
Mother Bear: Be back for lunch!


Then today we took Dean to lunch at Penny's Diner. We got milk shakes and had the girl put some in a glass for Lauren. She took a big sip out of her shake and said "Mmmm...tasty!" We about died laughing. Where in the heck did she hear that. A 2yr old doesn't know what tasty means...anyway...maybe you had to be there, but it was hilarious! It's these cute moments that make up for all those insane ones.
