{Shotgun Weekend}

This weekend we went to Phoenix for a Boy Scouts of America Shotgun Competition that Dean and his dad and two brothers were participating in. Dean made matching shirts for them. They turned out nice for an amateur shirt maker and he was so proud of them. They did not place this year, but they had fun.

We were also able to go to the Temple Friday (Thanks Ash for watching Lauren) and spend some time with my sister in Tempe. Then we spent time with other various family members of Dean's. Lauren gets so excited when we tell her she gets to play with her cousins...she LOVES them! This trip she had fun playing dress up with Ashley and then being outside and playing "house" with the rest of the cousins.

Now for the drama of the weekend...I was sitting on the couch at D2's house, when everyone came over to visit, and Dean suddenly comes running in carrying Lauren who is screaming/crying hysterically with blood poring out of her mouth. She seemed to be bleeding a lot, but luckily the damage was minimal. Apparently she walked in front of the swings while a cousin was swinging and got clocked in the face, which led to her biting 3 little holes in her tongue. The bleeding stopped quickly and I was thoroughly impressed with how fast the mouth recovers from "trauma." I think she was more hurt emotionally than physically due to the fact she had not had a nap. So after a little clean-up, some lovin' from mom and dad and a change of clothes, she was ready to play again. So I guess we will just add this one to the never ending list of bumps and bruises for this child!
