{Rub A Dub Dub}

Kylee had her first "real bath" today. It seemed like it took FOREVER for the umbilical cord to fall off. I hated not being able to bathe her for real. Of course I did "sponge baths," but that just doesn't cut it. Plus they now tell you at the hospital to not even clean the belly button area with alcohol wipes. GROSS! So like a good mom, I did what they told me...ugh! Her belly button smelled awful. I couldn't take it anymore and started using the wipes on it. There is something about having a brand new baby girl that smells like a dying old man, that does not fly with me! So once it fell off yesterday at the doctor's office, I was excited to give her a real bath.

Lauren came in to watch. She didn't care much, other than wanting to know if Kylee was going to play with her toys. I told her Kylee was too little, so apparently Lauren felt it was safe to not stick around and that none of her possessions were in jeopardy. (We really need to work on sharing!) Also, Kylee had her 2 week checkup yesterday. After sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes (which totally ticks me off) we finally saw the doctor. She is back to her birth weight and everything else looks good. Nothing like having a happy, healthy newborn (who now likes to sleep at night-hallelujah!!)

There is nothing better than a clean baby! I'm also a firm believer in a bath a day (or more). Not a bath a week. I love clean babies!

It has taken Nolan a while to realize that "share" doesn't mean give away forever. It's so funny how kids are with their toys:) Yeah for the bath, I'm sure Kylee feels better too.
