{Big Girls Don't Cry}

Two Sunday's ago I was sitting in Relief Society and I heard a child crying. Instantly I knew it was Lauren. I walked out to go find her and sure enough, she had run into the wall and hurt her head in Nursery. Then last Sunday, Dean was teaching his class, when he heard crying. He stopped, listened and told his boys it was his child. Sure enough, Lauren had managed to somehow hit her head on a toy drum. So today, after watching Lauren fall off the bar stools and take a flying leap across the living room, I got to thinking.

Isn't it interesting how we are able to discern our children's cries. Not only which child it is, but also what the cry means. Lauren and Kylee both have their own cries: tired cry, hungry cry, in pain cry, mad cry, scared cry, etc. Have you ever noticed when a bunch of children are playing together and one starts crying, someone says "Who's crying?" and the parent of that child is able to recognize their cry..."That's mine." Maybe it's just "Parental Intuition," but I find it quite interesting. A new ability I have developed since having children--apparently I do have talents!

There's a lady who has gone so far as to decipher each cry's meaning and all babies will make that same cry. Like a M sounding cry is for food and it makes that sound b/c they're putting their lips together looking for food. Crazy, huh?!

Just happened tonight to me. Bunch of kids playing, one starts crying. Another mom, says, "is that mine?" I said, "Nope it's Bryce!" Sure enough it was!! I can TOTALLY tell my kids cries!
