Lauren came home from church with her picture of Jesus and the tomb that she colored in nursery. Then she proceeded to tell us the following:
Lauren: Jesus died.
Me: He did? Why?
Lauren: For us.
Dean: Where did they put Jesus?
Lauren: Under the big rock.
Me: Then what happened?
Lauren: The rock moved.
Dean: Who moved the rock?
Lauren: The angels. Jesus was resurrected.
So sweet and simple. Just when I think she is too little to understand a concept she surpasses my expectations. I am grateful that not only are we able to teach Gospel principles at home to our children, but also when we take them to church every Sunday, there are great Primary Teachers that help reinforce what we are teaching at home. Sometimes, I think she even learns things better from her Nursery teachers than from us.
One of my favorite hymns is "There Is A Green Hill Far Away:"
There is a green hill far away,
Without a city wall,
Where the dear Lord was crucified,
Who died to save us all.
We may not know, we cannot tell,
What pains He had to bear;
But we believe it was for us
He hung and suffered there.
There was no other good enough
To pay the price of sin,
He only could unlock the gate
of heav'n and let us in.
Oh, dearly, dearly has He loved!
And we must love Him too,
We trust in His redeeming blood,
And try his works to do.
Dean found this video "None Were With Him" in which Elder Jeffrey R. Holland describes the Savior’s solitary journey to overcome sin and death and testifies of the resulting blessings to all mankind. It was really good, lots to think about.
Then, during our Sunday lesson, the Mia Maid teacher showed the video "Reflections of Christ." Which was also awesome. It made me cry. Very amazing!
I love this time of year!

I love that song as well! I love Easter!
What an amazing video. I loved his talk from conference and it's so cool to see it put to video like that! I love that you sing that song to Lauren. I'm sure that will always be a very special song for her.
That's one of my favorite too! I have it memorized, but I never thought to sing it for bedtime.
Sounds like that is a favorite hymn for a lot of us--I have always loved it, too. I also had never thought of singing it to my kids at night. I usually just sing primary songs--guess I should branch out! It's amazing what our little kids understand!
