We love Dean. He is the best daddy! He loves his girls and they know it. Lauren gets so excited when she hears the garage door open when he gets home from work and Kylee just squeals with delight when she sees him. He works so hard for our family; he goes to work everyday, is finishing up his Masters Degree, does side jobs when he has time, serves as the Stake YM Secretary as well as the Priests Advisor in our ward , and still manages to spend as much time as possible with us--with a smile on his face (most of the time!)! I love when he plays with Lauren and Kylee. They both just think he is the best thing ever. Almost every night, Dean puts Lauren to sleep and tells her fairy tales (with his own spin, of course) or makes up songs for her. She has definitely caught on to his quirky story telling and loves to do the same. We are so lucky to have our daddy and we sure love him!
We took our family pictures recently, and afterward Chris (the photographer), said: "You're Dad isn't very smiley." I just had to laugh. From the outside he is this big, tough and sometimes scary man. I remember in High School, some of my friends were afraid to come to my house because they were scared of my dad. (But deep down, we know he is just a lovable, teddy bear!--but don't tell anyone...its a secret!) My sister gave him a card for Father's Day that said something along the lines of "you could make anything fun." I remember one time driving to Quartzite with my dad to visit my grandparents. That drive is the most boring drive ever, but during the drive, my dad taught me how to recognize the "brand" of car just by looking at the grill. I could spot a Ford, Chevy, etc, from a mile away. Dad can make anything fun! And now my kids are lucky enough to play with him too! ( I love this picture of my dad-the real goof ball!)
This is a great picture of Danny (Deans Dad) because he is doing two things he loves: camping and being with his boys! I am grateful to him (and Cheryl too!) for the way they raised their boys. Dean and all of his brothers are great men who honor the Priesthood, love their families, and live righteously. I am glad we live in Yuma so that Lauren and Kylee have the opportunity to get to know and love their grandpa.
