{Farar Family Reunion}

For New Year's we went to the "Clyde Jackson and Mary Alice Farar Family Reunion" in Phoenix. 93 of their descendants were in attendance and we all had a great time. It was fun to learn about the Farar Family heritage, meet and visit with relatives, and spend time together. The reunion was held at a scout camp which had 4 "dorms" that slept 12 people each, 3 gathering rooms, a kitchen, a ramada, basketball court, horse shoes, etc. Dean slept there each night with Lauren and I went back to his brothers with my sister in law each night with Kylee.

Day 1: We arrived at the camp and started to get settled. The kids got busy playing and exploring. We had dinner, visited and then we gathered together and played a game that helped us get to know G&G Farar better, mixed in with fun songs to keep the kids happy. Lauren was really crabby and went to bed shortly after the evening gathering started. Once it was over, I left with my SIL and Kylee. Dean and the boys pulled an all-nighter playing games. Dean went to bed at 5am!

Day 2: The day started off with breakfast and "The Amazing Race" put on by one of Dean's cousins. I helped at the face painting destination, Dean watched Kylee and Lauren team hopped with her cousins, getting in on all the action! The day continued on with horseshoes, basketball, a pinata and relay races for the kids, and more games! Since we weren't far from where my sister Ashley lives, she stopped by to visit, which was great! After dinner we all gathered together again for family skits. We had a pretty funny skit planned, then Dean's cousin did the exact same skit before we had the chance. So Dean improvised and did one with his brothers and dad. We ended the evening with smore's and woofums!

Day 3: The day began with breakfast and everyone began cleaning up and loading cars to head home, although the boys still managed to get some games in and the kids continued to explore! By lunch time, we all headed out, but the party didn't end there! My sister-in-law and I had our hubbies drop us off at Hobby Lobby so we could get some craft shopping done--without the kids! Then all the brothers and their families headed over to D2's house for Phase II of the party! It is always fun to have all the family together and we are always grateful to D2 (and his wife!) for allowing us to invade their home!
