{Or Not}

My baby is growing up.

I just realized it today.

When did this happen????

At church she is no longer in Nursery. As she says, she "is a big girl now" and gets to go to the Sunbeams class and Primary with all the big kids.

Unlike her mother, Lauren is quite adaptable to change. Lauren had no problems with going to a new class or being with all the other kids. She was even okay with not getting to play with toys or have snack time! She likes her Sunbeam class and getting to be with the big kids, but she especially LOVES singing time! Her teachers say she is very reverent and even answers questions (This is a huge step up from Nursery, where she never spoke)!

So since I don't have a choice about the growing up thing, I will work on embracing all the good things about her growing up. I especially love her growing and inquisitive mind and how much she loves to learn new things:

Today at church she asked me "What is underneath the carpet?" I told her it was padding and concrete. Of course that wasn't a good enough answer. "What is padding and concrete?" So I did my best to describe the dynamics of the flooring (good thing I worked for a construction company). Eventually I gave her a sufficient answer!

She also got a new preschool teacher who is making learning a more exciting experience. It is fun to listen to her in the car recall everything they did and learned. Her favorite was the day they learned sign language for: more, milk, water, and eat!

I also love that she is becoming a wonderful big sister. Kylee loves to be wherever Lauren is and the older Lauren gets the better she is about having her around. I wanted to cry when I found the two of them sitting on the floor in my room. I listened as Lauren "read" (recited from memory) Kylee's favorite book to her. It was so sweet to see Lauren reading to her baby sister!

See, I can accentuate the positive! Having my baby grow up isn't so bad after all.

Or not.

hmmm...Marcus never tells me what he learns in Preschool. I always get, "I don't remember..." I should start having him beg for milk in sign language. hehe
