Dean has 6 brothers and 1 father.
Each year they manage to go hunting/camping at least once {sometimes twice}; without children.
I have 7 sister-in-laws and 1 mother-in-law.
We have never taken a trip together; let alone without children.
We decided that was wrong on so many levels!
So in March we started planning our own "hunting/camping" trip! This past weekend we all met up in Julian {We were only missing 1 SIL-Jodi} and stayed 2 nights at our cousin's cabin. We had big plans for things like heading into San Diego for the day, going to the beach or even renting paddle boats on the lake; however we quickly realized how wonderful it was to just hang out in the peace and quiet of the cabin and chose to do that instead! The weather was practically perfect {a little warm during the day}and we easily filled our time relaxing, reading, doing crafts, eating yummy food, visiting, laughing, crying {well at least I did!} and eating pie of course!
There was a lot of reading going on!
We made hair bows, notepads, magnets, sewed and tied 2 crazy quilts that we left at the cabin and then helped Adriana finish a baby quilt and helped Cassie finish a t-shirt quilt. It was so nice to get in some uninterrupted craft time!
We walked around Julian where we had lunch at a cute and cozy diner, visited the shops and bought about a dozen pies! {No we did not eat them all!}
I consider myself really lucky to have married into a big family with so many amazing sister-in-laws and a wonderful mother-in-law! I think the even better part is how we are all so different, yet we all get along and really enjoy spending time together. I am glad that I have them to learn from and get that sisterly support that can only come from someone else married to a Farar boy! {They know what I mean! :)}

Cassie wanted to do a silly face picture.
We were all like.."uh...we don't know how to do silly faces"...obviously we managed!
The perfect girls weekend was so worth the time, money and effort it took to organize it! I am really looking forward to making this Farar Girls Getaway a new tradition!
