We went to the Veteran's Day parade last week. {It was the first parade I have ever been to in Yuma (that I know of) and I have lived here for 22 years!!}
We found ourselves a great spot right on the corner. And guess what...it was FREEZING! Well Yuma freezing, but still freezing! The wind was blowing like crazy! See:
While we were waiting for the parade to start, we realized the Brown's, Thorson's and Umphress' were across the street, so we decided to abandon our corner and join them!
Adellae, Lauren, Lorili and Gabe
About 3/4 through the parade, the kids were done. It was too cold and the wind was a little too crazy to be sitting in on the side of the road, so we headed out, but I am glad we went.
It was great to see all the Veterans in the parade, to wave and clap, and to just offer support to them and hopefully demonstrate how much we appreciate what they do for us and our country! A sense of gratitude for those that serve our country and patriotism is definitely something we want to instill in our girls. {And I love listening to the marching bands!!} This will definitely become a new tradition of ours!
