{Up to the Highest Height}

A few weekends ago, we went to the Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival. It is one of our favorite events of the year! We got up around 5 and were to the park by 6:15am. We met up with the Farars and Browns and we all contributed to a breakfast of donuts, fruit, bagels, hot chocolate and juice. Last year, we were totally unprepared for the cold weather {the girls weren't even wearing socks and Lauren was so cold she broke out in a rash!-Mother of the Year award for me on that one!} but this year we were totally prepared for cold {jackets, gloves, scarves and beanies} and it wasn't too bad!

Due to wind, it took a while before the balloons decided they were going to launch. There were not any balloons by where we were "camped" out, until almost sunrise. Then the newspaper's balloon came and parked right by us. Since they were not going to launch, they were letting all the kids go up in the balloon for a short ride. Surprisingly Lauren hopped right in! Her and the other kids had so much fun on their little ride in the sky. A fun experience for them!

By the time all the balloons were launched, the early morning was getting to us all. Especially Kylee, who fell asleep in Daddy's arms, in the shadow of the giant bumble bee!

We L-O-V-E the balloon festival!
