We went on a mini-vacation for 3 days with Deans parents and sister Cassie, as well as our friend Jeff and his girls. Jeff and Dean had been concocting a plan to go camping for some time. I, of course, was the road block. I don't like camping and I basically don't like being "in nature." We finally came to a consensus and "camped" at Dean's cousin's cabin in Julian. It was so beautiful in the mountains and the weather was wonderful (I actually put on a sweater)! The kids had so much fun and just played and played. The property in on an incline and there is plenty of "nature" around, so Lauren came home with 7 pretty decent wounds on her body. The only time she cried though, was when she got mowed over by one of the other girls on the rope swing. The last time we went to the cabin, we were up all night with a sick Lauren, so I was extremely grateful that we enjoyed our trip without sick kids! The boys tried taking the girls fishing, but they were way too cold and did not last long at all. On our way out of town, of course we hit up Julian Pie Co. for apple pie. After having a piece of pie and a couple cookies, we left with 4 pies in hand. (Only 1 was for us, the rest were requests of our family/friends.) It was nice to have a relaxing break and enjoy nature...from a distance!

Cute family pic and I love Lauren's pose in the girls camp picture. Glad you had a nice time with family and friends.
How fun! I love camping, especially in a cabin. I think I love mostly that my boys won't be seen because they are having so much fun when we're in the mountains. I bet your pie was yummy!! And I also bet those 4 pies were not really for family/friends! Ha ha...just kidding.
