{Desert Afternoon Adventures}

With cooler weather, comes trips to the desert!

We went out with Bradley & Johanna and the kids to a new spot. The boys built a fire and then we roasted hot dogs and made s'mores and hot chocolate. It was nice to be out there while the sun was still up, so the kids could play and it wasn't too cold.

As Bradley was roasting the hot dogs, he glanced over and saw this little guy:

or should I say big guy? {hot dogs were pictured to show proportion--he was big!}

Mr. Tarantula, came crawling over to warm himself by the fire. He was big and hairy. We were all enthralled with him, but Dean eventually invited him to leave by escorting him away from our area with a shovel!

The kids had fun with big sticks, walking around looking for treasures eating gigantic marshmallows and helping Dean dig a hole.

Dirty, but happy faces!

As a person who doesn't like dirt, the more we go out to the desert as a family, the more it grows on me. I am even starting to not care about how filthy, dirty the kids get.....but don't quote me on that and don't tell Dean...I might change my mind!

I totally think we should do this on the 27th... That way the boys' don't play games ALL day and all the kids have tons of room to play and get dirty :D
