{Squirrel Business}

My parents have squirrels.
They live all over their neighborhood and there probably isn't a day that goes by that they don't see one climbing a tree, scaling a wall or hear then running across their roof.
It's the closest thing to wildlife we get around here.
We always run to the window to watch them or sit quietly to listen to them on the roof.
Weird, I know.
We are easily amused.
Anyway.
Back to my story.
I was talking to my mom on the phone the other day.
And this is how it went.

Me:
Yada yada yada.
Mom: Yada yada yada. Hey, Brad look at that squirrel. {obviously no longer talking to me} What does it have in it's mouth?
Me: What is it?
Mom: {totally ignorning me} It's a piece of bread. It has a piece of bread in it's mouth. Look at that. Wait. That's not bread. It looks like a pop tart. No. That's not a pop tart. What is that Brad?
Me: What is it? {hello! talk to me mother....I am now on the edge of my seat!}
Mom: There are jelly beans on it.... It's the gingerbread house! The squirrel is carrying a piece of our gingerbread houses!

Yes that's right folks.
The squirrels were making off with our gingerbread houses that they found in the back of the truck {the houses were waiting for their turn in the over-flowing garbage!}
So my mom went out and put the houses where they were easily accessible to the squirrels.
I mean really, how could you deny a squirrel graham crackers coated in frosting, sprinkles and candy???
Every time I would talk to her, I made sure to get an update on the house consumption.
Like I said.
We are easily amused.
