I am beginning to realize that children are never too young to learn The Gospel. Lauren may not completely understand everything we teach her in Family Home Evening each week, or grasp the concepts of the songs we sing her, but she does listen and every once in a while I begin to see that she is getting it little by little.
I keep the Primary Songs on CD in the car and every time we get in..."Mommy we listen to my songs?" I used to fight her and say no, it's Mommy's turn to listen to my music. Then I realized how silly that was. My child was getting upset because I wouldn't let her listen to primary songs and instead I wanted to listen to the radio. So now...Primary Songs it is! It is so cute to hear her from the back seat singing along. She doesn't know all the words and sometimes makes up her own, but she tries. The best is when we are just going about, around the house, and she starts singing "Jesus Once Was a Little Child" or another of her favorites or at bed time and she asks us to sing her to sleep. I just want to pick her up and hold her and keep her small forever!
Today while watching The Little Mermaid--the scene before concert when it shows the mermaid's castle, Lauren asks me: "Mommy--is that Cinderella's temple?" No, I told her, that's their castle. At least she gets the concept that Temple's are beautiful!
Every day I am realizing how important being a parent is. We have a lot to teach our children and it just can't wait until "tomorrow."

Thanks for the reminder! That is also the message some guy gave a talk on yesterday. I guess I need to listen up :)
Also, your list is not accurate. I posted something last night and it says it was two days ago! :) I think you'll find it funny :)
So cute. She's so smart. I love that Kara can sing the entire first verse of "I Am a Child of God" plus several other Primary songs. And Joshua just started doing the motions to "Popcorn Popping," and he jumps up when we sing "Jesus Wants Me for a SunBEAM." Love it.
I can relate to your thoughts.. "I just want to pick her up and hold her and keep her small forever!"
I feel those same feelings every day with my little Brianna! The Preschool years go way to fast!
It is quite amazing how much they learn from us at a very young age!
How are you feeling? Not much longer!:)
Thanks for the post Linsay. We all need those little reminders to keep doing what you know is right, even if you don't think it is doing any good. Way to go mommy!!
