{Swimming Lessons}

We kicked off our summer with back to back swimming lessons for Lauren and Kylee.  They both did really well and had improved significantly by the end of the two weeks.  I thought Kylee would be more hesitant, but she jumped in with both feet {literally and usually aiming for Miss Mary}.  The girls were in the same classes as the cousins so that was a lot of fun too!  Now they are ready for summer!

{Fair Enough}

Fair time again and I don't think the weather could have been more miserable. It was so hot, but we suffered through it for the sake of merry-go-round rides and corn dogs!  Bailey slept through most of our adventure. Kylee was excited to ride some of the "bigger" rides with Lauren.  Well, until she got on the big swings, then the fun and games were over.  It was just screaming and tears until the ride was over!  We all survived and ended the afternoon with cotton candy!

{At the Park}

During the cooler months we tried to spend as much time as possible outside before the miserable summer sets in.  This includes hitting up all the local parks.  The kids favorite, of course, is the castle park.  Dean and I however, despise this park.  There are more nooks and crannies to loose your kid in than we care for and the place is often packed!  This particular Saturday, we felt like good, generous parents and agreed to go.  It really is a pretty awesome park and the kids always have a BLAST!

{Beach Bums}

After camping, we headed down to the beach in San Diego.  The kids, again, were in heaven!  I parked it in my chair under the umbrella with Bailey and didn't hear from Lauren and Kylee until it was time to eat!  They played in the water with Dean and the others, dug for sand crabs, buried each other in the sand, etc. etc.  Unfortunately, Lauren and Kylee ended up with a little too much sun, even though I coated them in SPF 70.  Me, well, I got fried. That's what happens when the redhead doesn't wear sunscreen. {When will I learn?} By later afternoon, we were exhausted so we loaded the car and headed home.  The kids still ask when we are going back.  I'm sure they would live there if they could!
