Lauren L-O-V-E-S seeing hot air balloons and has been talking about them for weeks. She gets so excited when she sees them in the sky, especially in the morning on the way to preschool. She would watch out the window and tell me when the balloon had stopped or was going fast or slow. I realized that although the balloon was probably barely moving, because we were going fast or slow or stopping, she thought the balloon was too! In her eyes, it was zooming right along with us!
Today was to the Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival and I knew Lauren really wanted to go. So this morning I loaded up the kids at 7am and headed to the park where we met up with the Browns; unfortunately Dean had Stake Young Men stuff he had to be at. By 8am, Lauren who is ALWAYS hot, said she was too cold and wanted to leave. So we loaded up and headed home. Luckily, she lasted long enough to see a lot of the balloons launch.
Freezing with the cousins!!
Kylee just sat quietly in the stroller, taking it all in. She was a good sport about it even though I woke her up way too early to go!
Note: The first time Lauren saw a hot air balloon it was the Applebee's balloon and she was about 1 years old. So every time she saw a hot air balloon after that, she would call them "Applebee's" instead of balloons! The next year we were finally able to get her to call them balloons, but she could only say "ba-yoons" (hence the title of this post). This year I think we got it all straightened out!

I love seeing hot air balloons, too!
There is a place that's a pioneer type of museum for kids... anyway they have a hot air balloon that you can go up in! It sounds really cool and I can't wait for us to try it out :D
and no, I don't remember the correlation between pioneers and hot air balloons :D
